"There is no real proof, no statistical data indicating we should fear going back to school, moving, starting a new job, asking for a raise, taking a stand in a family situation that may not be the most popular, or a thousand other things. We fear things that we have no real knowledge of or past bad experience with and build upon that fear without logic.”
So many of us look over each edge terrified to make the first leap to life. Or the second, maybe a myriad of tries and chances. Changing within what we originally think we wanted, finding easier routes to skirt the possibility of making it. So many of us spend hours dreaming of what’s to come, while intermittently getting stuck inside a spinning wheel not moving forward or behind. We aren’t meant to hide in a harbor for we are built for bigger things. Something bigger than ourselves set out a path that we can’t find until it is time. We are looking so hard that we miss it. We are seeking it so much that we lose it. Truthfully, we are meant to get higher and higher on the simplistic good vibes of the day. Read. Be read. Open it up until it forces itself closed. And don’t give up too easily when it does. In fact, don’t give up at all. One door closes, another opens—too cliche to live by. Better yet, keep close to the heart in your own chest. What does it beat to? When someone else’s door closes, maybe you just happened to be in the way. Let yours swing on the hinge. More like a revolver. More like evolving. Every good thought we think and every good act we create speaks volumes for a greater measure of life. It does, if we stop standing at the edge. Peering over the newness only makes us stumble over our own insecurities. In the end, you are already there. Ready. Live well, live in sync with yourself, and help a few others to do the same. Keep your soul in the air; dig your feet in the soil.
