Regretfully, I am behind on responding to this atrocity that is Boss Tweed politics, but I suppose later is better than never, right? On January 22, perhaps one of the last strings that held our justice system fashionably together broke into pieces. The Supreme Court ruled that corporations can virtually buy out swing votes in a campaign. This plan is seen through dollar-stricken eyes & can only end in disaster for the marginal voices in American politics. As graduation grows near, the application of this economic forte to the real world becomes more apparent. I am slowly, but definitely surely, learning the real-world application of the golden rule: if you’ve got the gold, you get the rule. In all seriousness, the celebration is clear, those who are in the money…stay in the money & bounce more opportunities off to their potentially even more wealthy subjugates. Sorry Teddy, this Bud’s not for you.
